Our Client has one of Tasmania’s most significant mining operations, producing in the region of 2.5 million tonnes of iron ore from a substantial open pit configuration. This is an owner operated mine, which offers the opportunity to work with an experienced team of mining industry professionals.
With the Life of Mine projected beyond 2030, the Company has recently commenced a feasibility study to evaluate the development of underground operations using the block cave approach. Obviously this will present the potential to significantly enhance your career development prospects. You will join a small team of Mine Planning Engineers, on this occasion the Company has two openings, one to focus on D & B, the other to focus on L & H. Your experience should include 4-5 years in open pit mining operations in both production and planning roles. A Quarry Manager’s Ticket would be well regarded as would experience with Surpac, MineSched and the recently introduced Deswick software.
These are both traditional Mine Planning roles, both key roles in meeting the Life of Mine Plan, and ensuring the planning process reflects production requirements at both the Mine and the Pellet Plant. Although the role is designed to suit candidates with at least 4 years post graduate experience, candidates with more experience who are seeking a lifestyle change will also be considered.
The roles offer the opportunity to establish your home on Tasmania’s north west coast, away from the high housing costs of the mainland in a relaxed environment. The opportunity to maximise the benefits of the drive in, drive out roster, with excellent on-site accommodation, messing and recreational facilities, matched with the experience of working with a Company staffed mining team.
